Seasons greetings 🎄🎅🏼☃️❤️

I’m going to keep this short and sweet, as much as I can anyways. I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas and happy new year! I hope the festive period brings you lots of Christmas magic, food, sleep, a rest, time with your families and lots of memories to keep forever. I always think it’s not the presents that make Christmas, but rather the people you get to share it with, whether its friends, family or grandparents, it’s the people around the tree that make this time of year special. 🎄☃️🎅🏼🤶🏻

Thank you for making my first 1/3 of my year with you all so amazing, I’ve had so much fun with you all and you’ve made my 2018 very special. These past 2 weeks have been so exciting. I even got to finally go see the Belen de chocolate, it really was worth the wait to see and truly impressive. We don’t have things like that in the UK as people normally have Christmas trees rather than a nativity. So I enjoyed the experience, and well, who doesn’t love chocolate? I loved being able to do Christmas activities with you all. A bilingual maths treasure hunt which led you around the school, following clues and solving maths problems. Well done to the winning groups, I loved your songs and I hope you enjoyed the chocolate coins. Also, the pass the parcel games that I did with most of you, I loved the festive spirit it brought to the class room and I’m glad you all enjoyed so much. Although I don’t want to wrap another present for a while 😂😂 plus the other activities, like singing Christmas songs in music class (you all play the recorder so well), taboo in English lessons and team building games in PE. well and, finally the bilingual Christmas party and the staff bilingual choir that happened today! 👏🏻🎉 I hope you all enjoyed us trying our best to sing our hearts out, I know you all did dancing away at break time.

I wish you all a fabulous festive period and I’m looking forward to what 2019 will bring us all, thanks for making my 2018 memorable! ⭐️ I’ll cherish the moments we had together. I’m already looking forward to coming back for the Cabalgata as we don’t have that in UK and it looks amazing. But first I’m flying home tomorrow to spend Christmas with friends and family.

Lots of festive love,

Your language assistant Lissy 👩🏻‍🦰

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!

Hi again everyone!!

These days have been so hectic, cheerful and especially festive at our school. We have done lots or things: A Christmas Card contest, a bilingual party with Lissy, a performance of students and teachers with music in English, a lipdub video with a nice story behind, decoration of the hallway with our very singular Christmas tree....everything has been so busy and agitated but really really worth it. We have enjoyed ourselves a lot and students have definitely got into the festive spirit that these days deserve. Have look at some of the pictures we have taken. And have a great Merry Christmas full of joy!!!

THANKSGIVING!

Hi again everyone!

Today I'm writing to tell you about a really interesting activity that took place at our school for Thanksgiving. As you know, Thanksgiving is celebrated every fourth Thursday of November in the United States and it's a really big and important family celebration. So the Bilingual Coordination of our school organised a "transito" bilingual activity, so called because it involves students from 6th year primary school and from 1st ESO. In this case 100 students were brought together at the Assembly Hall of our school. The activity was developed in English with the special help of our language assistants, both from the primary schools assigned to our school (CEIP Araceli and CEIP Al-Yussana) and our secondary school IES Clara Campoamor. Accordingly, our dear Alyssa, Lauren and Lissy did a really good presentation with details about this celebration. There were pictures, videos, a bingo and even a game ("Who wants to be a Millionaire?") with questions about the contents they had just explained. For the winners there was even a prize that our language assistants happily brought (delicious M&Ms). In addition, our students from 1st ESO in their subject "Libre disposición de inglés" had previously prepared decoration for that purpose, including an exhibition of autumn fruits that was visited by every group in order to check vocabulary related to the topic. The organization of the whole event was a real success and our students enjoyed themselves and learned a lot with the activity, therefore we will be looking forward to organise more activities like this in the near future.
